Industrial Revolution 3 Overhaul

(Work-in-progress: things are subject to change.)

This mod is an overhaul for Industrial Revolution 3 designed to shift the focus away from the tech tree and back onto building and maintaining a complex factory. It includes compatibility fixes for mods like Atomic Overhaul, Space Extension (Feora's Fork), Rocket-Silo Construction, and more.

The main goal is to make building base and processing new materials seem more important. This mod encourages to spend more time experimenting with each new unlock of technology.

What's changing?

Expanded IR3 Mechanics:

I've expanded several systems that are a bit neglected in the base mod to give them more depth:

• Advanced ore purification: More advanced ore processing for higher yields.

• Air purifier rework: Added new reciped beyond just pollution removal.

• More Electroplating: New recipes to utilize the plating system further.

• Rebalancing: Adjustments to furnaces, liquids, and chemicals for smoother gameplay.

Science and Tech Pacing:

To give more time to play with new unlocks, the focus on science has been reduced:

• Simple science recipes + expensive tech research: Science recipes are now simpler to make, but the tech tree is much more expensive to research. This forces you to scale up production to progress.

• Chips: Hardlock on science with blue chips has been mostly removed.

Alternative Item Sinks:

New ways to utilize your factories production lines outside of just making science packs:

• Space Map Cartography: A new endgame goal that acts as an "infinite" item sink. Instead of just doing research, you use your complex production chains to obtain map spaces.

• Rocket Silo Construction: Building a rocket silo is no longer a one-time event in the late game. It is now a multistage process that spans your entire game progression and accompanies you from the very beginning.

• (Work-in-progress) Idea: (Ancient Beacon: Grants map-wide buffs when fed with machines. Also a multistage building like rocket silo.)
