🌐Planet Rubia

Discover the wind planet Rubia. Belts and inserters work differently on Rubia, leading to unique building challenges not seen on any other planet. Your whole factory must go with the wind as a never-ending barrage of waste is hurled at your base.

Hey. So, the core issue is the cargo bays allowing you to transport items left with an arbitrarily shaped box. This is not allowed on Rubia for obvious reasons.

Quezler graciously helped implement a blacklist for Rubia from cargo bay inserters. The blacklist makes that mod not do that, but only on Rubia, so we can avoid an incompat. However, the crude blacklist was overly draconian, as most people use cargo bays just to pull more things out of a landing pad, even on Rubia. This is Quezler’s default behavior, as he is truly a saint.

Today, I upgraded the behavior of the mod to ONLY blacklist Rubia if you also changed Cargo Bay Inserter mod settings for planetary cargo bays to ā€œinputā€ or ā€œinput-outputā€ mode. These are the modes that are the actual problem, because they allow items to go into the cargo pad on the right, and come out on the left. On Output/none, v0.69.130 totally removes Rubia from the blacklist. In input/input-output modes, I assert that Rubia is on the blacklist, to preserve the wind mechanic. Unfortunately, I cannot manually make Cargo bay inserters use the output-only mode on Rubia while in the other mode for other planets (without remaking the entirety of that mod in Rubia, which I’m not going to do).

This should be a substantial upgrade vs yesterday. However, the conditions for the wind mechanic are not obvious because you CAN use these mods together, and you CAN use cargo bay inserters on Rubia, and it won’t be blacklisted depending on the settings of the other mod… This is why the ingame error message gives an explanation.

Sorry I could not explain more in the changelog. There was just a lot to explain. I hope this makes everything clear.
