Industrial Revolution 3 Patchset for 2.0 (Unofficial, ALPHA)

by Shemp

Deadlock989's classic overhaul with a unique art-style and age-based progression. This is a command-line script which installs additional code and patches into the original mod files, as well as the add-ons, to make them compatible with Factorio 2.0. Requires manual assembly.

b [Pending] Pipes don't connect to certain machines when using other mods

Shemp I think that flow configuration still has some problems with ir3. It happened to me several times that the pipes disconnected when loading a game, always on the steel-cleaner entity.

The Ore washing plant, correct? The one that takes water + crushed ore and spits out polluted water.

I assume this is when you connect FC's sneaky pipes directly to the machine? Can't seem to reproduce this one, but you're saying it's randomly on load, doesn't occur every single time?

No, the machine is the one that purifies the polluted water, and it's more than random, it only happens to some, always to others, not to others. If you disconnect and reconnect the pipe, everything is fine as long as it's charging. If you change the arrangement of the pipes, from curved to straight for example, it doesn't appen anymore, but the shape doesn't make any difference. :D I'm sorry, this is difficult and unpredictable.

I wanted to send you the save file, but now it won't do it anymore. :P If it happens again, I'll send you the save file.

I'll leave you with one last commit for today on Codeberg, with some teeny tiny changes to the fluidbox code. I have a feeling there's some floating point strangeness going on with it.

It probably won't fix the issue, but it might be a good luck charm :D

the problem persists, I have to correct the base and delete the mod, if it is her....every time it happens and I don't notice it blocks all my metal with catastrophic consequences :DD I'll leave you a save where it just happened

Can you make it public?

I'm determined to get to the bottom of this, but first, you'll want to press F4, go to the Debug tab and check "show-debug-info-in-tooltips". That way, whenever you turn on the Debug overlay with F5, it will show you the name of entities in their tooltips and you can see precisely which pipe you're looking at.

Just to confirm, this never happens with the standard IR3 pipes? It's only the ones that have been changed by Flow Config?

What I'm trying to work out is, when you do a save/load, does the pipe turn into a different kind of pipe? Or is it identical, but it just isn't connecting for some reason?

Made public sorry, I already have the debug active, I'll check the names better later, however the shape is identical but not connected, you'll see it by yourself

Holy mod list, it seems like we've got a whole line-up of suspects. I've got my eye on you, Squeak Through...

I did my initial load with only Alien Biomes and Flow Config active, and the pipes around the machine are just ordinary "pipe", and they are connecting. I presume that's correct? (Also, Alien Biomes seems to delete the borders on the stone bricks in the menu?!)

Flow Config has moved out of Santa's naughty list, and Squeak Through has taken its place. When I moved my entity changes to data-updates, it decided to cause a bit of havoc in data-final-fixes.

There's a new build on Codeberg where the issue may finally be resolved.

EDIT: This is what I'm talking about. Obviously gunning for the old IR3.

Sorry Shemp maybe I should have tested it without mods :D

I prefer Flow configuration to Squeak Through if I have to choose! I downloaded the new version, now I'll test it.

EDIT the version is the same one I have installed at the moment but the IR3 part has been bypassed, I'll try to re-enable it

EDIT no, it gives loading errors, it's probably old code,I'll disable it

Deadlock had put Squeak Through on the incompatibility list anyway, but I have always rehabilitated it without having any problems

where are you from Shemp, I'm Italy
