I really like Cerys so far.
The method of creating Plutonium 239 is fun on my part and creative on yours. (I won't spoil that here.)

However, I cannot, for the love of God, figure out how to get carbon.
I have researched all of red science, including the lube recipe.
Therefore, I was really frustrated to discover that carbon is required!

I want lubricant to be able to build electric motors in the first place.
I need electric motors not only for robots and a spaceport, but also to build space grabbers. (I play factorio in German. So please forgive me if I don't use the "correct" English term).
And I need space grabbers to harvest the floating asteroids (they are part of the riddle, aren't they?), which will give me carbon.
Which I need for lubricants.

First a quick note that if you are ever frustrated about being stuck on Cerys, I recommend the mod Planet Hopper to take a break.

As for carbon, you are correct that it will come from asteroids.

Weirdly enough, this actually helped. ;)

But only, because I learned in another thread, that not all deliveries from space are disallowed.
Because what I imported was in itself dependent on electric motors, if I would have wanted to produce it on this moon. (I hope, I didn't give to much away here. Spoiler tag non-withstanding).

Did I miss this in the description? Anywhere else?
You write deliberately: "due to the solar wind, cargo pods cannot drop resources onto Cerys (without researching a specific technology.)"
No mention of any exceptions, so I took this for granted. ;)
Because I believe, this information is crucial to finish the Cerys-challenge and relying on forums shouldn't be mandatory.

The exception for dropping construction robots was indeed missing from the description, but that isn't related to this puzzle.

I am glad to have found this solution.

But if not with construction robots (since you have now given this solution away yourself, I feel free to mention it myself) ... what is the intended solution to this puzzle? (Okay, I guess you don't want to give it away ...)

I think, it is way clearer now.

The solution is that if you shoot the asteroids, they drop chunks on the ground which can be processed.

Construction robots cannot be recycled in Cerys until late-game.

So, those chunks would have to be picked up manually.

Well, why do work with my own hands, if servants exist? :D

They can actually be picked up automatically by either belts or robots.

Guys, please tell me how to shoot down asteroids.
Shotgun does not work for physical damage and I cannot figure out how to produce anything explosive.

Oh come on, what the hell. I crafted a submachine gun and that works?
I spend hours to figure out the lubricant process and a mediocre weapon is the solution?!

This bug with shotguns was fixed in v2.5.15.

I cant drop Building bots. was this removed? Same message for every item i try to drop.

The exception was removed lately to make the mod cleaner, but another mod is welcome to add back the exception.

You’re probably using Crushing Industry, which is working on a compatibility fix.
