FAQ

Why should I play this?

OreCrafter offers a different style of gameplay. The world has no natural resources, everything needs to be generated. While this causes struggles with power demands and Biters, it allows you to build ready-to-run factory setups, that supply all their required resources on their own in perfect ratio.

Is this easy?

That depends on your settings. Default settings and map makes the game significantly more difficult, as you are likely to experience Biters attacks before you can even get a solid resource production going. But even without Biters you will soon struggle with power demands. Needing >500 MW when you launch your first rocket is to be expected.

Long-term it saves you the constant building of yet another mining outpost, and you can literally scale your resources to infinity if you want to. Also an early entrance into quality is easily doable.

Can I configure the details?

Most major parts of the mod can be configured in the settings to tailor the experience exactly to your liking.

Is this compatible to my favorite other mod?

OreCrafter tries it's best to detect defined resources and generates generator and bootstrap recipes dynamically, based on what it finds in the world. It should therefore be compatible to most mods out there. However it might make them easier or more difficult, depending on how they handle resources.
