Wooden Gleba: Radicane Algaculture
Stepping out of the cramped landing pod, the engineer had forgotten how foul the air was on Nauvis thanks to their sprawling factory. No matter, they grab a bundle of water cane and make their way to the nuclear district. The thick air stings their eyes and they question whether this is better than the nauseating cacophony of aroma that permeated the soupy Gleba air.
They recall how rapidly the oddly shaped stick grew new roots after being thrust back into the swamp. They could almost see it in real time, if they managed to stay focused. It was marvelous, but not quite marvelous enough. Lost in thought, they nearly walk right off the ledge, catching their balance just in time. After catching their breath, they hesitate for a moment, cross their fingers, then toss one of the canes into the glowing vat of uranium.
Features
- Grow water cane on Gleba, which is absurdly abundant and easy to cultivate. Processing it yields both wood and nutrients.
- To mirror how the best rewards from Gleba require revisiting Nauvis, mutate water cane into Radicane.
- Radicane grows faster, yields more wood and nutrients, allows for sustainable production of uranium ore.
- Artificial Swamp and Overgrowth Radicane Swamp allows Radicane to grow anywhere with high levels of radiation, such as Nauvis.
- An achievement for "terraforming" Fulgora.
Compatibility
- Astroponics: Grow radicane in space for absurd amounts of wood and nutrient production.
- Seabloom Algaculture: Cultivate water cane and radicane with the algacultural bay.
- Other water cane mods are not needed, and not currently supported, though I'll eventually add support so you can seamlessly integrate this into existing saves.
