DEUTERIUM-TRITIUM FUSION

Fusion power is high-tech, as well it should be; but then you need lithium and holmium and ammonia to use it? What's even the point, then? The whole benefit of fusion power in real life is that it doesn't require rare or hazardous materials for fuel; it can just use deuterium and tritium that are extracted from water.

This mod allows you to do that in Factorio. Fusion power cells are now made of iron plate (not lithium and holmium!), and two new fluids, deuterium and tritium, both of which can be extracted from heavy water, which is made simply by processing regular water. I also greatly reduced the requirement for fluoroketone to run the fusion reactor (you still need some, but it'll last you much longer than before; it's now more like a catalyst, as it should be). This allows you to produce fusion fuel and use fusion on every planet and even in space! That's what's great about fusion.

Deuterium is more abundant than tritium (I was merciful and did not make this difference as large as in reality), so you may find yourself with an excess of deuterium; but that's just another logistics challenge to deal with! This mod makes fusion much better than it was---which it desperately needed, because in vanilla there is basically no reason to ever prefer fusion over fission.

The deuterium/tritium ratio is now configurable, even all the way up to the true value; new recipes now allow you to extract deuterium on its own and then use neutron capture to convert it into tritium.

• There is a new recipe, "Tritium neutron capture", which converts deuterium into tritium using fission fuel cells. (This is still more efficient in generating power than using the fission fuel cells directly.)
