Hello, I've been trying to figure out how to place a string of bridges over a waterway for a while now and post-FAQ I can't seem to figure it out still. Is there a GIF/video showing placement of a string of bridge, like over a wide waterway (not a narrow canal) you could point me to or make one yourself real quick since you know how to actually place them?

I can place one connecting the bridge to a shore and crossing over a waterway but when I trying to string more across the water I can't get it to connect and the ghost is just red during placement (making it so I can't place more).

Hi, sorry you are having trouble. What do you mean by "string more across the water"? Did you place perpendicular waterway for each bridge to link to? You can't place them without a separate waterway for each bridge segment.

so if I want several bridge linked together over a wide body of water I need a separate water way for each one?

I did get one to place, and yes it was perpendicular. Perhaps I should just use the 2.0 elevated rails for my use case as it doesn't sound like this the feature in this mod is going to work well for it.

Yes, that's what the FAQ means when it says "bridges are placed like train stations on the waterway". There has to a waterway for the dummy station for each bridge you place.

Cargo Ships bridges are not meant to replace elevated rails or theBeautiful Bridge Railways mod. They are a legacy compatibility feature, and now they default to the raised position so it would be very funny to string then together as a viaduct.
