​Space Age Hard Mode


A modpack that tightens the gameplay of Space Age, removing shortcuts, adding interesting challenge, and letting Space Age mechanics be more like themselves. Each planet has many variations: nights are darker, demolishers are more numerous and move faster, lightning can hit locomotives, random variance is added to biorecipes, nuclear reactors no longer work on Aquilo, and more.

I have had an idea for a mod that is basically that all planets are limited in size (and therefore resources), but there are many more planets, and moons, and large asteroids that can be landed on, etc. This would force players to consider the ramifications of depleting an entire planet, the logistics of moving significant amounts of production between planets, etc.

Is something like that compatible with your vision?

There are many reasons one might add a mod like this. It might be for more content, to explore space infrastructure in more depth, or in a multiplayer setting one might want to give new players their own fresh territory.

Most planets in Factorio have a risk-reward element to greater to expansion from gameplay within the planet itself. Each planet feels different than the last and is genuinely new content.

This modpack is certainly interested in optional dependency content mods that are excellently made and engage with design questions like those above.
