Realistic Artillery Shells
Adds five distinct artillery shell variants with physics-based explosion effects and realistic weapon mechanics. Each simulates real-world weapons behavior adapted for game balance. Each shell type offers unique tactical advantages and visual spectacle.
Shell Types
1. Fragmentation Artillery Shell
Role: Conventional explosive ammunition with area fragmentation
Key Features:
- High explosive impact with shrapnel dispersal
- 12-tile fragmentation radius with 30 piercing projectiles
- Medium scorchmark on terrain
- Tech: Artillery
Damage (Normal/Rampant): 600/3000 primary explosion, 300/1500 primary physical, 300/1500 blast explosion, 250/1250 blast physical, 200/1000 fragmentation
Recipe: 1 Artillery Shell + 10 Explosives + 10 Steel Plate + 20 Iron Plate
2. Napalm Artillery Shell
Role: Persistent incendiary weapon for sustained area denial
Key Features:
- Wide gel dispersal pattern covering large area
- Long-burning fires (60 second burn time, max 90 seconds)
- Minimal fire spread—gel sticks where it lands (max 15 spread chains)
- Fire stickers applied to enemies (damage per tick: 10/50 Normal/Rampant)
- Medium scorchmark
- Tech: Artillery
Damage (Normal/Rampant): 100/500 initial fire, 50/250 initial explosion, 5/25 fire per tick
Recipe: 1 Artillery Shell + 5 Plastic Bars + 10 Sulfur + 100 Light Oil
3. Fuel-Air Explosive (FAE/Thermobaric) Shell
Role: Massive overpressure shockwave with aggressive fire spread
Key Features:
- Extreme instant damage on impact
- Aggressive combustion front with rapid fire spread
- Short-lived intense fires (5 second base burn time)
- Rolling fireball visual effect
- Large scorchmark
- Multiple shockwave projectiles (1500 atomic-bomb-wave, 800 ground-zero)
- Tech: Artillery
Damage (Normal/Rampant): 800/4000 explosion, 400/2000 physical, 300/1500 fire, 8/40 fire per tick
Recipe: 1 Artillery Shell + 10 Explosives + 5 Steel Plate + 200 Light Oil
4. Nuclear Artillery Shell
Role: Strategic area destruction with terrain transformation
Key Features:
- Converts terrain to nuclear ground (17-tile radius)
- Destroys cliffs in 35-tile radius
- Quadrant-based mushroom cloud (4x scale)
- Thermal flash fires with moderate spread
- Multiple shockwave layers (3000 + 4000 + 2500 + 2000 + 3500 + 1500 projectiles)
- Radiation cloud and fallout (only with the mod Nuclear Fallout & Radiation (Coming Soon™))
- Tech: Atomic Bomb
Damage (Normal/Rampant): 4000/20000 ground zero explosion, 2000/10000 ground zero physical, 2000/10000 blast explosion, 1000/5000 blast physical, 2000/10000 fire, 10/50 fire per tick
Recipe: 1 Artillery Shell + 30 Uranium-235 + 10 Uranium-238 + 10 Explosives
5. Antimatter Artillery Shell
Role: Ultimate weapon with maximum destruction and theoretical matter-antimatter annihilation
Key Features:
- Complete terrain vaporization (30-tile radius)
- Destroys cliffs in 60-tile radius
- Massive 5x-scale mushroom cloud with purple tint
- Gamma radiation burst with intense visual effect (intensity 15, 120 ticks)
- Plasma fires superheating atmosphere (20/100 damage per tick Normal/Rampant)
- Spherical shockwave expansion
- Persistent plasma smoke sources (50 total, 30-tile radius)
- Massive decorative destruction (100-tile radius)
- Multiple shockwave layers (5000 + 8000 + 5000 + 4000 + 6000 + 3000 projectiles, speed-enhanced)
- Tech: Atomic Bomb (with Krastorio2, recipe unlock moves to Antimatter tech)
Damage (Normal/Rampant): 15000/75000 vaporization explosion, 10000/50000 vaporization physical, 8000/40000 gamma burst, 10000/50000 annihilation wave, 6000/30000 plasma, 20/100 plasma fire per tick
Recipe (60s craft time): 1 Artillery Shell + 50 Uranium-235 + 50 Processing Units + 20 Low-Density Structures
