A furnace doesn't just output cold usable results. You need to wait for them to cool down.

the changelog button is not able to be used in game to view the changelogs

Must be a wrong format of some kind. The web site is more forgiving with the formating. I'll have a look.
If you haven't seen it, this is very helpful. It's not actually a mod, just a script distributed on the mod portal.
