will you be updating this to factorio version 2?
and if not/not in the forseeable future, do you mind if someone else does that?

I will at some point when I have the time. Honestly, I think it might actually be ready to go as-is, but I haven't been able to run the compatibility testing I'd like to run on it, between trying to finish my own Space Age run, holiday nonsense, and college workload.

To be clear, I do not mind if someone makes a successor mod of my mod. The license is MIT for a reason.

If you didn't see, Version 2 released just over a week ago.

Die Mod Drills of Drills (2.0.2) hat einen Fehler verursacht, der nicht behoben werden kann.
Bitte informiere den Autor der Mod über diesen Fehler.

Error while running event drills-of-drills::on_nth_tick(300)
drills-of-drills/control.lua:57: attempt to index field 'mining_target' (a nil value)
stack traceback:
drills-of-drills/control.lua:57: in function 'getSpeedLimit'
drills-of-drills/control.lua:102: in function 'restrictSpeed'
drills-of-drills/control.lua:119: in function <drills-of-drills/control.lua:118>

this happens when one of my stone drills run out of stone, i think you need to add a class after the mining_target gets lost or set to NIL im not that fluent tho.

I actually discovered this one on my own two days ago and patched it in 2.0.3... I just forgot to publish 2.0.3 on the mod portal. It's up now.

so one interesting... interaction with the sciences being unlocked by crafting that i noticed... it does also count the uncrafting of the big ones as crafting smaller ones
(i personally don't mind this as i also use this in archipelago where i get resources from unlocking techs and this gives me a massive influx of miners, but it does feel unintended)

Yeah - it's known. I'll probably make uncrafting excluded for the purposes of unlocks, but it's such a low-priority fix that I'm not gonna patch it JUST for that. Especially when the gating is mostly there to naturally hide the recipe until you can MAKE the drill anyway without having to search for particular techs to gate unlocks behind. (It also keeps the tech tree kinda cleaner.)
