searchlight can't look through walls, with the earendel combat mechanics recycling mod installed, it's possible without it, but I haven't tested it

Might be something to do with the new collision layers with Factorio's 2.0 API.. I'll look into this asap

Hey, sorry for the late response, but someone else on the discussion board was able to help me diagnose what was going on -- a combination of the jetpack and combat mechanics overhaul mods was causing CMO to inadvertently change collision layers on prototypes it didn't mean to (eg, my units).
I've just released version 2.3.20 which should fix this issue.
The new version should start to appear in the mod portal shortly.
